Coupang Inc., first selected as one of the top 100 global innovative companies...."Leading AI innovation"

Coupang Inc. has been selected as one of the 'Global 100 Innovative Companies' by global patent analysis company LexisNexis for the first time this year.

Coupang was selected as one of the 'Global 100 Innovative Companies 2025' by LexisNexis on the 20th (local time), being recognized as one of the leading companies driving innovation in the global economy.



Based on a database of 16 million global patents covering various industries and technologies, LexisNexis selects 100 global innovative companies every year in various fields such as bio, IT, electronics, automobiles, and semiconductors. Coupang



rose in the rankings as the number of patent citations increased, and was selected as one of 12 global companies in the IT field along with IBM, Meta, Alphabet, and Ericsson. Coupang said,



"LexisNexis took notice of Coupang's rapid patent increase rate," adding, "This reflects Coupang's evolution."



In fact, Coupang has increased its global patent size from 160 in 2019 to 2,100, providing customer services in more than 190 countries and regions. Its services are diverse, including distribution, restaurant delivery, video streaming, and fintech, under brands such as Coupang, Coupang Eats, Coupang Play, and Farfetch.

Coupang explained, "Thousands of world-class engineers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia are driving technological innovation to rapidly develop, test, and optimize customer experiences and new products." "Coupang's AI-related patents range from predicting order volume and optimizing Coupang Eats delivery to ensuring that customers get the search results they want even when using inaccurate keywords."



LexisNexis evaluated the quality of Coupang's patent portfolio to be nearly four times stronger than the industry average.



"Coupang's inclusion on our list for the first time is valuable because it has nearly doubled the size of its patent portfolio and dramatically improved patent quality over the past two years," said Marco Richter, senior director of intellectual property (IP) at LexisNexis.



"From cutting-edge robotics technology to the unparalleled logistics systems that power its fulfillment centers, Coupang's patent filings demonstrate leadership across multiple business areas."
