Kia unveils exterior design of first electric sedan 'The Kia EV4'

Kia unveiled the exterior design of its first electric sedan, the Kia EV4, on the 17th.

The EV4 is Kia's fourth dedicated electric vehicle model to be introduced in the domestic market, following the EV6, Kia's first dedicated electric vehicle released in 2021, the EV9, and the EV3. It is Kia's first electrified sedan aimed at popularizing electric vehicles and expanding its electric vehicle (EV) lineup.



The EV4 shows the direction of Kia's next-generation electrified sedan through an innovative silhouette that suggests a new type in the EV market centered on sports utility vehicles (SUVs



). The front features a bold 'Tiger Face' that combines vertical headlamps that emphasize a wide feel with the Star Map Signature Lighting, while the design of the lower part of the bumper with a geometric pattern gives a sleek and dynamic feel.

The side of the EV4 shows a new sedan look suitable for the era of electrification with a silhouette that flows smoothly from the front of the hood that drops low to the end of the trunk and black cladding that wraps around the wheel arches.



In addition, the 19-inch wheels with a unique shape that utilizes visual contrast effectively represent Kia's design philosophy of 'Opposites United' and create a futuristic atmosphere.



The rear features a roof spoiler that was not seen in existing sedans, placed on both ends of the body, further highlighting the innovative silhouette of the EV4.



In addition, the vertical tail lamps located along the edge of the vehicle provide unity with the design of the front lamps while emphasizing the wide width of the trunk, and the design of the lower bumper that continues along the trunk parting line maximizes the clean feeling of the rear.

The EV4 GT Line is based on the innovative design of the basic model and applies exclusive design elements to create a more dynamic atmosphere.



The wing-shaped front and rear bumpers applied to the EV4 GT line give a more solid and sleek impression, and the exclusive 19-inch wheels are designed with a triangular shape as the center, emphasizing a futuristic and sporty feel.



"The EV4, a new interpretation of the sedan, is a model that reflects Kia's efforts to redefine mobility through design," said Karim Habib, Vice President of Kia Global Design. "EV4 will provide a sophisticated yet practical usage experience that suits various lifestyles of customers."



Meanwhile, Kia plans to reveal the EV4's interior design and detailed specifications, along with its expanded electrification strategy, at the '2025 Kia EV Day' to be held in Tarragona, Spain later this month.
