LG Display Mass-produces 5K2K Quality OLED Monitor Panels
LG Display announced on the 18th that it is accelerating its conquest of the gaming display market by starting full-scale mass production of a 45-inch gaming OLED monitor panel with 5K2K picture quality. LG

The 5K2K resolution (5120X2160) of this product has approximately 11 million pixels. This is more than five times that of FHD (1920X1080) and approximately 1.3 times that of UHD (4K/3840X2160). Resolution refers to the number of pixels that make up the screen, and the higher the resolution, the more precisely videos and images are expressed.
LG Display explained, "This product not only has the highest level of resolution, refresh rate, and response speed, which are the core specifications of a gaming monitor, but also implements perfect black in any environment to create the best gaming experience."
LG Display's 5K2K 45-inch gaming OLED panel offers a maximum brightness of 1300 nits. The higher the brightness, the more the contrast ratio is emphasized, delivering a three-dimensional effect that is similar to what you see with your own eyes. In addition, a polarizing plate dedicated to gaming monitors with less glare and light reflection was applied.
This product uses LG Display's proprietary technology, 'DFR' (Dynamic Frequency Resolution). This technology allows users to freely select high-reflection mode and high-resolution mode depending on the content.
Unlike LCDs that require backlights, LG Display's gaming panel implements three-dimensional image quality by emitting light from each pixel.
The amount of blue light harmful to the eyes is half that of LCDs, and there is no screen flickering phenomenon that causes headaches, so it has less impact on the human body even when used for long periods of time.
LG Display's strategy is to attack the rapidly growing high-end gaming display market with a full lineup of gaming OLED panels ranging from 27 inches to 31.5, 34, 39, and 45 inches and its proprietary technology.
Kang Won-seok, managing director of LG Display, said, "We will provide differentiated customer experiences and strengthen our technological leadership by innovating all the values that customers want from gaming monitors, including picture quality, form factor, and refresh rate."
