Nvidia's Jensen Huang: "AI Will Help Us Understand the Language of Cells"

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said, "AI will drive innovation in the healthcare industry."

According to the electronics industry on the 13th, CEO Jensen Huang made the remarks after receiving the 'Luminary Award' at the Precision Medicine International Conference held in Santa Clara, California, USA on the 7th (local time).

The Precision Medicine International Conference is a place where leaders in the healthcare field, top global researchers, and innovators in the biotechnology field gather. The Luminary Award that CEO Jensen Huang received is awarded to someone who has advanced precision medicine in the medical field.

In his acceptance speech, CEO Jensen Huang said, "In the next few years, AI will develop at an incredible pace and revolutionize the healthcare industry," and "AI will help doctors predict, diagnose, and treat diseases in ways that were previously thought impossible."

"We're going to scan a patient's genome in seconds and identify risks before they even show symptoms," he said. "AI is going to create our digital twin and model how tumors evolve and predict which treatments will be most effective." He added,

"It wouldn't be surprising if, before 2030, we understand basically every cell in the body. We're going to be able to model cells, understand their language, and predict what's going to happen."

NVIDIA has been advancing computing technologies for life sciences, medical imaging, genomics, and other healthcare fields for the past 20 years.

"We built a computing device," Huang said. "It's not a genome sequencer or some amazing scientific device that you're talking about here. It's a programmable scientific device. We built this device for researchers and scientists who are trying to better understand life in the universe."

"NVIDIA is developing and continuing to advance GPUs at the heart of AI and machine learning, which is changing the world, including precision medicine," said Dr. Gad Getz, a world authority on cancer genomics and director of bioinformatics at Massachusetts General Hospital, in announcing the award.

Meanwhile, more than 4,000 healthcare companies around the world are participating in NVIDIA's AI Inception program.
