The models provided to the officers are the Galaxy S20~S24. The Chicago Police Department is the second largest police organization in the United States.
The Chicago Police Department was looking for technology that could reduce the time spent on paperwork in the office and communicate with residents. In particular, because the organization was so large, it needed user-friendly technology that could be used by officers of all ages.
Samsung Electronics also provided 'Samsung DeX', which connects smartphones or tablets to external display devices such as TVs, monitors, and PCs to provide an environment for working on a desktop. Local police officers can use DeX in their cars while using their smartphones in the field to write reports as if they were using a PC. The

Samsung Knox, a security technology, was also supported to prevent internal police data leaks. In addition, with the quick setup of devices with the enterprise security platform 'Samsung Knox Suite', the time required for phone calls was reduced by 75% compared to three years ago.
Todd Maxwell, director of Samsung Electronics' US legal business development, said, "Galaxy devices, Knox Suite and Samsung DeX are increasing efficiency and enhancing cost savings."
Samsung Electronics said, "We will expand the scope of cooperation with a wider range of public agencies across the United States."
