[MWC 2025] KT, the first domestic telecommunications company to launch WiFi 7 router

KT announced on the 4th that it will be launching the 'KT WiFi 7D', a WiFi router that supports the WiFi 7 standard for the first time among domestic telecommunication companies. KT first unveiled the KT WiFi 7D at MWC25.

The biggest feature of the KT WiFi 7D is that it provides a data processing speed of up to 2.8 Gbps (gigabits per second), which is more than twice as fast as KT's existing routers. The KT WiFi 7D minimizes data delay with multiple multi-link technology that simultaneously connects two WiFi frequencies (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz), smoothly supporting high-load tasks related to AI. In addition, stability has been enhanced with the latest security standard, 'WPA3'.



Along with the generational upgrade to WiFi 7, KT has also innovatively improved the design of the KT WiFi 7D. The existing mechanical design with exposed antenna and frequently blinking LED lights has been changed to a simple design with a built-in antenna. The LED lights that spread softly from the bottom intuitively show the network status and can also be used as an interior object.



The function to change the skin according to the user's taste is the same as the previous model. KT plans to expand the range of choices by introducing limited edition skins of various designs for the KT WiFi 7D in the future.



The KT WiFi 7D has been recognized for its design excellence by winning several international design awards, including the 'Red Dot Design Award' and 'iF Design Award' in Germany, the 'Good Design Award' in Japan, and the 'European Product Design Award' in Europe.



In addition, KT built an Internet environment with the KT WiFi 7D at the KT exhibition hall at MWC25, allowing visitors to experience KT's hyper-connected era firsthand.
