The Dragonwing IQ9 series provides outstanding AI performance for demanding industrial applications, and the company explains that it has built-in safety features and design flexibility to achieve high performance and power efficiency, and can handle complex workloads even in extreme environments.
The series has specifications that include next-generation AI performance and executes LLaMA2 models with 13 billion parameters, generates 12 tokens per second, and achieves up to 100 TOPS under INT8 conditions. The industrial-grade Safety Island, integrated error-correcting code memory, and high-performance microcontroller (MCU)-level subsystems maximize the stability and uptime of the device.
As part of the collaboration on robot platforms and solutions based on the Dragonwing IQ9 series, Hyundai Motor Group Robotics Lab is reviewing the development of dedicated control hardware for on-device AI and robot communication based on the Dragonwing
IQ9 series platform. The integrated hardware based on the Dragonwing IQ9 series is expected to accelerate innovation in the future robot industry by solving the problems of robot production using existing commercial products by improving the ease and flexibility of robot design and operational stability, and by reducing power consumption and securing mass production. Advantech
is also preparing several module products based on the Dragonwing IQ9 series platform based on its strategic collaboration with Qualcomm for edge computing environment innovation in 2024.
Kwon Oh-hyung, senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Asia Pacific, said, "Qualcomm is redefining its roadmap with a focus on the industrial IoT industry, which is undergoing significant changes due to AI," adding, "We will continue to develop various use cases based on Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT solutions with various partners and drive the expansion of the industrial IoT (Internet of Things) ecosystem."
