SKC to exhibit actual semiconductor glass substrates at 'MWC 2025'   

SKC announced on the 3rd that it will showcase glass substrates at the 'Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC2025),' the world's largest mobile exhibition, held in Barcelona, ​​Spain from the 3rd to the 6th (local time).

SKC exhibited its glass substrates in the AI ​​DC (AI Data Center) section of the exhibition hall operated by SK Telecom.



The glass substrates were exhibited along with SK Hynix's high-bandwidth memory, HBM3E, and high-performance SSD storage for data centers.



Glass substrates can implement ultra-fine circuits, and various elements can be placed inside to place large-capacity central processing units (CPUs) and graphic processing units (GPUs) on the surface. 



If glass substrates are applied to semiconductor packaging, power consumption and package thickness will be reduced by more than half, and data processing speeds will be 40% faster than before.



An SKC official said, "As the world's first semiconductor glass substrate commercialization company, we will showcase our technological excellence to the world at MWC2025, following CES2025," and "We hope to contribute to the advancement of AI technology, which is receiving worldwide attention, through the commercialization of glass substrates by the end of the year, as we aimed for."
