Samsung "Galaxy S25 Edge, Thinner, Better Performance"

Samsung Electronics unveiled the 5.8mm-thick 'Galaxy S25 Edge' on the 13th, emphasizing that "we made it thinner while improving performance."

Kang Min-seok, managing director of the Smartphone PP team at Samsung Electronics' MX Business Division, explained at the 'Galaxy S25 Edge Beyond Slim' event held on the 13th, "The Galaxy S25 Edge is not just a product that has made it thinner, but also a product that has improved the completeness of the consumer experience and added innovation."



Managing director Kang especially emphasized the fact that it has improved heat generation issues while making it thin.



The Galaxy S25 Edge is the thinnest model ever in the Galaxy series. At 5.8mm thick. According to Executive Director Kang, this problem was solved by increasing the size of the vapor chamber (heat dissipator). The vapor chamber is a metal device with a refrigerant inside that is used to improve heat dissipation across major components, including the application processor (AP).

Unlike other Galaxy S models, it also boasts the application of the Log Video function to the front camera. The Log Video function is a function that makes the colors of the recorded video more natural and rich or corrects them to the color desired by the user.



Moon Sung-hoon, Vice President of Development Team 1 of the MX Business Division, explained, "Many creators have asked for the Log Video function to be provided on the front as well," and "We have made it possible to provide Log Video on the front of the S25 Edge model for the first time."



The Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with the 'Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy' jointly developed by Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm. Samsung Electronics explained that the chipset enhances on-device AI (artificial intelligence) processing performance and provides fast and stable performance.

On this day, Samsung Electronics announced that it plans to first launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in more than 30 major countries in Asia, Europe, and North America, including South Korea, China, and the United States.



Lim Sung-taek, Vice President of Korea, explained, "The launch in each region will be decided in consideration of factors such as the supply chain, regional technical specifications, and strategies of major partners."



The price of the Galaxy S25 Edge has been set at 1,496,000 won, which is between the Galaxy S25 Plus model and the Galaxy S25 Ultra model for 256GB.



Samsung Electronics will officially launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in Korea on the 23rd, and will conduct pre-sales from the 14th to the 20th.
