Thatgamecompany, 'Sky: Children of the Light' anime in-game preview in July

Thatgamecompany announced on the 20th that it will present the animation project 'The Two Embers: Part 1', which expands the worldview of 'Sky: Children of the Light (hereinafter referred to as Sky)', through an in-game preview for four weeks starting on July 21st.



The Sky animation project was first announced at gamescom held in Germany in August 2023. This work is a prequel to Sky and contains the origins of the kingdom of stars above the clouds.



Consisting of Parts 1 and 2, the animation depicts the parallel journeys of two children living in different eras, and the story of their deeply intertwined fates and choices that change the future of the crumbling kingdom. The animation, which conveys emotions only with images and music without dialogue, follows the journey of a child who has lost his parents and a wounded manatee (sea animal) as they navigate a world consumed by darkness together.

Genova Chen, CEO of Thatgamecompany and Chief Creative Director of Animation, said, "Two Sparks: Part 1 is a work that will leave a deep and long-lasting impression on the hearts of fans. Some fans may be moved to tears by this story, while others may feel the preciousness of family and pets once more and want to hug them warmly."



Two Sparks: Part 1 consists of a total of four episodes, and previews of one episode will be held every week in the game's virtual theater 'Sky Cinema' starting July 21. Each episode will be replayed at two-hour intervals after its screening.
