LG Electronics to supply cinema LED 'LG Miraclass' to Megabox

LG Electronics announced on the 21st that it will supply the next-generation cinema LED 'LG Miraclass' to Megabox.

LG Electronics has decided to supply LG Miraclass to Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It has started operating the 'MEGA ǀ LED' special theater by installing LG Miraclass in two theaters, and plans to increase this to a total of three by the end of this month. It



also plans to supply LG Miraclass to the newly opening Megabox East Pole store in Gwangjin-gu.



LG Miraclass is a compound word of miracle and class, meaning 'amazing viewing experience'. It features 4K resolution, self-illuminating pixels that excel in contrast ratio and color reproducibility, and expresses the entire screen with uniform brightness. It also expresses deep darkness, rich colors, and textures on a clear screen without distortion.



Based on the state of the theater lights being off, the brightness can be adjusted in a total of 5 levels from 48 nits, which is suitable for movie screenings, to a maximum of 300 nits. It not only screens 3D movies that are brighter than general 2D movies, but also provides clear picture quality in conferences and previews where the lights are on.



LG Electronics and Megabox have decided to collaborate to innovate the movie-going experience for domestic audiences, led by LG Miraclass, which has earned the trust of movie fans in the global movie market.



Furthermore, they plan to expand their cooperation to an integrated service that innovates the entire experience journey of movie theater customers from entering to watching the movie and leaving.



LG Electronics first commercialized Cinema LED in 2020 and launched the Cinema LED brand LG Miraclass in 2023. It is supplying cinema solutions to about 20 theaters in about 10 countries around the world, including the Meryl Strip Center in the United States, Spain, Taiwan, France, and Thailand. LG Miraclass is also scheduled to be installed in Australia and Morocco in the first half of this year.



LG Electronics plans to provide an integrated cinema solution with various commercial displays that can be found not only in LG Miraclass but also in ticket booths, waiting areas, and other areas of the theater, in line with the trend of movie theaters changing from movie theaters to comprehensive entertainment spaces after COVID-19.
